This website is dedicated to my sweet niece Holly, who I swear is my favorite niece, even though she is my only niece. If I had a thousand nieces to choose from she would still be numero uno! The idea to do this website came to me when I sent Holly some sound clips of me playing and singing in some bands while I was living in Austin Texas and she discovered Phoebe Snow who she really liked! I don't think she had heard her before, but I do a couple of her songs on the cd I sent her and she went on to learn about her and downloaded a bunch of her songs and even learned to sing some herself.  So, I got to thinking, maybe I should share all my favorite ladies of the blues, in hopes I could share even more of my favorite lady blues singers with her, and so here it is, for her to enjoy and I hope learn, grow and prosper from my experiences in the blues.

My selections here are varied, from a very popular Bonnie Raitt to a very obscure Lil' Green but each and everyone of them are near and dear to my heart! That, I think, is the most important thing.  Some play guitar and some write music, but all of them sing with a conviction that makes my heart soar! I have selected, carefully, some of my very favorite songs by each artist and it is by no means a complete selection of my favorite blues ladies and perhaps I will have to make a volume 2 next year!
